Mark Timms - a keynote speaker?
Posted by Smartie on October 30, 2007Thanks to the fine people at VoteForTheWorst, we’ve discovered that Mark is scheduled to be a keynote speaker at “PR 2.0 The Creative Revolution”, the 2007 Professional Development Conference held by SCPRSA (South Carolina Public Relations Society of America).
From their About Us page:
As a statewide organization, SCPRSA serves public relations practitioners all over South Carolina with a variety of regional meetings and events. To better serve our more than 200 members, we host monthly professional development luncheons in Charleston, Columbia and Greenville, with planned expansion to the Myrtle Beach/Coastal area.
All SCPRSA luncheons feature dynamic speakers, opportunities to learn about the profession, increased knowledge about topics relevant to the practitioner and valuable networking time with colleagues.
November 9th they’re having Mark Timms speak about the raging success of MyBowlAd:

Some Worsters got in touch with SCPRSA in order to warn them that having Mark Timms speak in front of a roomful of successful PR professionals may not be a good idea, considering what a failure MyBowlAd has been so far. Other Worsters questioned why we would contact SCPRSA to warn them.
As I said there:
I actually don’t have any issue with writing to the SCPR people. Why? Because they think they’re going to get a successful businessman discuss his success and hopefully inspire and motivate the listeners. I imagine he is being paid to speak. And discuss the raging success of MyBowlAd and its outcome - the commercial due for Superbowl 2008. Which would be the story they know of. Now they know the other side to the story, and how this commercial is probably never going to be made, as participants, sponsors and anyone else affiliated with it flee for the hills. Even the three people responsible for MyBowlAd appear to be shying away from admitting their association with it.
If I was hearing this guy speak then decided to look him up online, I’d be mightily pissed off that he scammed me, as an attendee to this event.
Whatsadikfur, who wrote the fantastic press release that we’ve been sending out to media outlets all over America, posted this today, quoting Mark Timms own words:
Mark Timms and his Partners?
“Evan White, without my approval and having access to our site decided to run a blog contest.” -Mark Timms
“The truth is, I have been seperate from Evans bad decisions since July.” - Mark Timms
“I have said it until I was blue in the face, dont promise a date or mislead anyone about a date.” - Mark Timms
“The deal is Evan didnt answer his phone between late June and Early august.” - Mark Timms
“I tried being diplomatic about him ruining my project with his ill decision but I guess you guys are right, litigation to Evan White PR is soon!” - Mark Timms
“Evan took a grand of his money and didnt do shit except leave for the UK for that 2month dissappearance act!!!” - Mark Timms
“Yeah, had to get my lawyer involved to get their immature asses to see my point” - Mark Timms
“I have been trying to get them {Evan and Robert] out of the picture!” - Mark Timms
Something of a monster?
“I thought about giving him [Evan] some cash to seperate myself but…like why should I pay to buy him out when I really dont have anything tangible I would be buying!” - Mark Timms
“Well, the fact is I dont have any money” - Mark Timms
This year’s Super Bowl?
“The thing I have been saying since day 1 is that if we dont raise enough this year we hold out till next year.” - Mark Timms
Who’s da boss?
“I came up with the concept of mybowlad.” - Mark Timms
“I came up with idea” - Mark Timms
Was Mark Timms aware of the contest?
“As I have said, I … told Evan that it WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO GIVE A FALSE DATE.” - Mark Timms
“I looked at the fuelmyblog contest once as it was happening” - Mark Timms
What does Mark Timms say about our efforts on behalf of Smartie?
“I really dont care how big this thing gets.” - Mark Timms
Does anyone here question, in the face of Mark’s own statements posted here, and the write up in the SCPRSA luncheon program, that Mark is being misrepresented in the program?
Three brains, partners? C’mon, Mark has made it pretty clear, he is not working with Evan and Robert.
Monster creation? Nothing tangible, and Mark doesn’t have any money.
This year? Well, we all know that this isn’t going to happen; I wonder how the SCPRSA ended up publishing all of this incorrect information in their program.
Yeah, I guess it was completely inappropriate to let the leadership of the SCPRSA in on the joke. Not. I imagine that as a professional organization, most of them will appreciate the timely notification.
Just sayin’.
SCPRSA took the blurb for their brochure direct from the old MyBowlAd website, and may not have visited it lately to see how much of the site has been deleted. Or that the whole MyBowlAd idea has turned into such a mess. A flaming failure of a mess.
Anyone paying to attend this event, I hope they find out the truth about Mark Timms and MyBowlAd LLC.
